Sustainability
The pleasure of doing the right thing
At Ambrosi, we look to the future. That’s why we care about sustainability and we constantly work to improve ourselves. But how can we reduce human impact on the earth?
Working together with local manufacturers in order to have a short supply chain and helping to growth of the region; focusing on animal wellness; using renewable energies, starting energy saving projects, and finally, conducting researching to improve productive processes and creating packaging with low impact on the planet. All this without compromising the quality and shelf life of our products.
The Ambrosi Sustainability Report, for the year 2021, is the result of years of investments and an unwavering commitment towards building a socially responsible corporate identity that testifies the great importance this topic has always held in company policies.
Territory
We rely on local partners, in order to enhance and protect the territory that surrounds us, promoting sustainable development and allowing us to have extensive control over the production of our products. This approach allows us to have a great control along the entire production chain, ensuring the respect of the highest quality standards.
Animal welfare
We care about animals, this is why we work with milk producers who are aligned with our beliefs and raise cows respecting their wellbeing.
All the milk we use in Ambrosi comes from stables certified according to the Classyfarm standard, a guarantee for the consumer regarding the level of animal welfare. This standard, together with ISO 22005:2008 certification, ensures full traceability of the product throughout the supply chain, from field to table.
RENEWABLE ENERGY
We have been investing for many years in environmental sustainability: we started with self-production of electricity through photovoltaic systems, which currently produce 1,200,000 kWh of energy, to continue with high-efficiency systems (thermal and refrigeration), up to the cogenerator.
All these investments will allow us to reach the goal of 50% of self-produced energy, wich means 2,250 tons of CO2 avoided.
Packaging
For some time we have been working to limit the impact of our packaging on the environment and we have achieved an average reduction of 30% in the thickness of plastic packaging, without compromising the quality and durability of our products. But our commitment does not stop here, we are testing 100% recyclable and compostable materials, to ensure an even more sustainable future for the company and the planet.
Other sustainability initiatives
Our sustainability journey goes through research projects for an even greener future.
With the support of Federalimentare and the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, we are analyzing our packaging from an environmental perspective. This will enable us to assess the current situation and receive advice on how to improve our packaging.
