Sustainability

The pleasure of doing the right thing

At Ambrosi, we look to the future. That’s why we care about sustainability and we constantly work to improve ourselves. But how can we reduce human impact on the earth?
Working together with local manufacturers in order to have a short supply chain and helping to growth of the region; focusing on animal wellness; using renewable energies, starting energy saving projects, and finally, conducting researching to improve productive processes and creating packaging with low impact on the planet. All this without compromising the quality and shelf life of our products.

Territory

We rely on local partners, in order to enhance and protect the territory that surrounds us, promoting sustainable development and allowing us to have extensive control over the production of our products. This approach allows us to have a great control along the entire production chain, ensuring the respect of the highest quality standards.

Animal welfare

We care about animals, this is why we work with milk producers who are aligned with our beliefs and raise cows respecting their wellbeing.

Classyfarm

All the milk we use in Ambrosi comes from stables certified according to the Classyfarm standard, a guarantee for the consumer regarding the level of animal welfare. This standard, together with ISO 22005:2008 certification, ensures full traceability of the product throughout the supply chain, from field to table.

RENEWABLE ENERGY

At Ambrosi we look to the future, that’s why we focus on sustainability and constantly work to improve and reduce our impact on the planet. We do so by collaborating with local producers in order to have a short supply chain and help the growth of local economy. We pay attention to animal welfare, use renewable energy and invest in energy saving projects.

Furthermore, we conduct research to improve production processes and create packaging that weighs less on the environment.
Thanks to our photovoltaic system installed on the roof of the company, we currently produce 1,200,000 kWh that will become even more after the expansion planned for the next few years, ensuring clean energy and km zero emissions.
With our heat recovery system we transform the condensation water from the refrigerators and the vapors produced by the hot whey of Grana Padano into energy.

Packaging

For some time we have been working to limit the impact of our packaging on the environment and we have achieved an average reduction of 30% in the thickness of plastic packaging, without compromising the quality and durability of our products. But our commitment does not stop here, we are testing 100% recyclable and compostable materials, to ensure an even more sustainable future for the company and the planet.

Other sustainability initiatives

Our sustainability journey goes through research projects for an even greener future.

Reinwaste

With the support of Federalimentare and the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, we are analyzing our packaging from an environmental perspective. This will enable us to assess the current situation and receive advice on how to improve our packaging.
